In the sea of mattresses sold online, Saatva stands apart in fundamental ways. Saatva delivers its mattresses by trucks, not in boxes. While, like other sellers on the internet the company has quickly increased its inventory, Saatva remains focused on a range of “luxury” models that are all costing, with the exception of it’s Youth model, more than $1500 (for the queen size). Saatva Mattress Coupon Codes
Sure, there’s a whole range of mattresses that are more luxurious than Saatva’s, featuring higher coil counts and finer materials.
However, we consider Saatva’s mattresses among the most beautiful and thoughtfully designed choices offered by an online retailer.
Over the past three years, our team has group-tested our Innerspring Saatva Classic, the memory-foam Loom & Leaf, and the all-latex Zenhaven which have all placed as one of our top choices in our reviews of the top foam mattresses and the top innerspring mattresses.
We’ve also used Saatva’s Saatva Latex Hybrid and have studied the components and construction of the other beds in Saatva’s lineup. The majority of mattresses sold online are foams or hybrids, so it’s no surprise that the Saatva Classic stands out. It’s among the few innerspring mattresses you can conveniently buy on the internet.
Pocketed coils provide Saatva Classic Saatva Classic a good amount of bounce close to the top. A cushioned top provides a feeling of softness. As with all of the Saatva Company’s mattresses that are available, the Saatva Classic is delivered by movers, rather than in the form of a box. Saatva also provides the option of a 180-day trial and simple returns.
It’s all foam. Loom & Leaf is made of more dense memory foam than other mattresses under $1,000, making it less likely to shift over time. This is why it’s better for people who weigh greater than 200 pounds.
The thick, quilted cover is more cushier, and more robust than the sock-like covers of most foam mattresses and it makes the memory-foam layer underneath feel less squishy.
Like you would expect from memory foam beds The Loom and Leaf is able to limit movement more that the innerspring Saatva Classic. The all-foam Zenhaven comprises primarily of latex. Particularly Talalay latex, which is made from the rubber tree plant’s milky sap, and is intrinsically robust. Talalay is less stiff than Dunlop latex and is usually used in less expensive latex mattresses we’ve tested.
Zenhaven is a good choice. Zenhaven is also flippable (the Luxury Plush side feels medium-firm, while it’s Gentle Firm side feels a little more firm), which might prove helpful if you’re not sure which side you prefer or your preferences change over time.
This isn’t a traditional cushiony mattress, however it provides a comfortable cushion, good edge support, and slight springiness.
Due to its inherent durability, the Zenhaven is a good choice for people who weigh greater than 200 pounds. Saatva Mattress Coupon Codes
Making sense of Saatva
Saatva’s portfolio of beds-many with a choice of firmness levels and catering to almost every comfort preference-includes:
- Saatva Classic (innerspring)
- Loom & Leaf (all foam)
- Zenhaven (all latex)
- Saatva Latex Hybrid (latex with coils)
- Solaire (a mattress with air chambers that can be adjusted)
- Saatva HD (a latex-coil hybrid made for people who weigh between 300 and 500 pounds)
- Saatva Youth (a foam-coil hybrid designed for kids aged 3 to 12)
We haven’t yet taken an in-depth analysis of Saatva’s “natural” claims of Saatva or of others “eco-friendly” brands.
We do know that the company makes use of thistle pulp or organic wool as a flame retardant (as opposed to fiberglass or chemicals) as well as only natural cotton (instead of synthetic blends) in its covers.
Similar to other online mattress companies, Saatva touts such extras as zoned layers for “optimal spine support”; we’re less impressed with those features and are more impressed with Saatva’s responsive customer service as well as its long-lasting coils and foams. Saatva Mattress Coupon Codes
Saatva Video Review
Who is it for:The Saatva Classic will likely appeal to those who like a soft (but not overwhelmingly billowy) top layer and a sturdy, resilient feel. Its Luxury Firm model (Saatva’s “Medium” offer) that we tried is a good choice for the back, sideand stomach sleepers. The soft Plush Soft version is geared to those who sleep on their sides, and the Firm version, for stomach and back-sleepers.
The way it feels:We tested the Luxury Firm version of the Saatva Classic, the model with the most popularity-and found it to be cushy on top, and with excellent cushioning and bounce. It has a squarely medium-firm feel, but it becomes softer after a break-in period that lasts a couple of months.
What we likeabout it:The Saatva Classic is one of the very few innerspring mattresses you can purchase online without the ease more typically associated with buying the traditional boxed foam mattress. It contains 416 thick, sturdy coils at the base for support with 884 wrapped individually, more flexible coils that are stacked over top to provide pressure relief. There’s also a bit of memory foam included in the mix, but the cushioning is actually a 3-inch polyfoam-and-fiber Euro top (an additional layer of cushion that is sewn beneath the top). The result is a soft and comfortable appeal, being supple, supportive, and with a softness that doesn’t feel overwhelmingly billowy.
We tried the 14 1/2-inch Saatva Classic in Luxury Firm in a group test for innersprings (it’s additionally available in 11 1/2″), and it captured the second-highest number of top-rated scores (nine from 39 testers) in the $1,000 to $2,000 category (which included three other mattresses: the Avocado as well as the Parachute, and the first-place WinkBed). Five of those nine testers liked it more than the Saatva Classic better than any of the other mattresses in the test, including those which cost twice as much and two of the nine testers chose the Saatva Classic as their second-favorite overall.
For the home test I was looking at the prospect of sleeping in this bed every night. I don’t like an overly heavy bed, and I was pleased its Euro top provided what seemed to me to be just the perfect amount of cuddling. The bed has some bounce however not enough that my husband’s tumbling over made me wake up. To me, the buoyed up feel was worth the sacrifice in motion isolation.
At around $1,600 when it’s not in sale (though it often is) It’s a good value at around $1,600. Saatva Classic is the least expensive innerspring mattress we’ve tried that feels substantial and luxurious. We also love the fact that you can pick between three levels of firmness-Plush Luxurious Firm, Soft or Firm. This means you’ll find a good fit regardless of the sleeping position you choose to sleep in. Unlike the more-billowy WinkBed which is another option in the innerspring mattress guide Saatva Classic is Saatva Classic is delivered unboxed by moving companies (so that the “new scent of the mattress” is already gone from the factory and while in transit), and this “white glove” delivery service is free. Saatva offers a huge 180-day trial period as well as a 15-year warranty.
We don’t likeabout: If you’re not a fan of the bounce of a mattress, or you’re sensitive to your sleeping partner’s movements You probably won’t enjoy the Saatva Classic. While the top coils are individually wrapped, the lower ones aren’t. therefore, the bed offers more motion transfer than our other innerspring options, such as those from the WinkBed. If you’re not a fan of any bounce at all, you’re better off with Saatva’s Loom & Leaf.
Saatva Classic is a great mattress for couples. Saatva Classic also requires a little bit of time to get used to. When we first tried the mattress in the year 2018, it felt medium-firm; after a year and two-thirds of a year later, we noticed that it’s softened a bit however in a pleasing way (at at least to me). This is not a “Soft” mattress However, those who prefer it might want to try this Plush Soft version, which we haven’t yet tried.
Although the company touts the “active Lumbar Zone” technology to provide “additional back support” our husband (who weighs less than 200 pounds) wanted more support from the Luxury Firm. He might have found it in the Firm version however, we haven’t tried the technology at this point, therefore we aren’t able to confirm it. In general, we are not awed by the zones, as people have different sizes and heights, and they may spread in a way that doesn’t conform to the zoning patterns.
The foam densities of Saatva Classic are lower than those in Saatva Classic are less than those of the Loom & Leaf that is the company’s foam mattress offering. Although company representatives wouldn’t divulge the details, we were told that memory foam is at least 3 pounds in cubic feet, and the density of polyfoam of 1 1/2 pounds for each cubic foot.
These aren’t as high than the density of the Loom & Leaf, but the specifications are standard of an innerspring bed, especially ones in this price range. In contrast to foam mattresses, these mattresses’ steel coils offer an additional level of support, and the quilting could help prevent body impressions.
But as in this Reddit post suggests, some sleepers have had better results with the Saatva mattresses over many years than others. We think that this could be due to the size and shape of the person sleeping on it. As with all thick Euromattress – also known as a pillow-top mattress the heavier you weigh the higher the chance of getting imprints and sagging as time passes.
So you’ll want to turn your mattress regularly at least every six months, and then sleep all over the bed.
Saatva Classic top owner-review feedback
We found only 39 high-quality owner reviews (those that didn’t seem to be fake or ambiguous, and that were posted recently, in 2019 , and in 2020). Although the sample size is quite small, we believe it’s worth noting that almost 30% of the positive reviews praised Saatva’s service to customers. That’s a much bigger percentage than what we’ve seen from other mattress brands online.
We also observed that six of the reviewers mentioned that sagging was the cause of their discomfort. One of them weighed more than 200 pounds, and the rest either were lighter or didn’t mention. Each of them had been using the mattress for more than an entire year prior to the date of their review. This indicates that turning the mattress is vital; heavier people who like innersprings may want to consider a mattress with intrinsically more-durable latex foam like the Charles P. Rogers Estate SE. Saatva Mattress Coupon Codes
Saatva Loom & Leaf
Who is it to be used for The all-foam Loom & Leaf appeals to those who prefer a memory foam that wraps around instead of encasing them in a soft, slow hug. The soft Relaxed Firm model could be ideal for sleepers on the side. It is designed for back- or stomach-sleepers. People who weigh more than 200 pounds could be able to find the Firm version to be more comfortable over the Relaxed version.
How it feels:The Relaxed Firm is an average-firm mattress that supports you without pulling you in. it’s the firm (which we’ve tried only in the showroom) is much firmer.
What we likeabout it: The 12-inch thick Loom & Leaf comes with an extremely durable, quilted cover, similar to the one you’d find on a high-quality innerspring mattress (by contrast, many memory foam mattresses are made of sock-like, thin covers). The cover is made of foam padding, which brings more depth to the normally one-note squishiness of cheaper memory-foam mattresses. I lay on the Relaxed Firm at home for more than one week and enjoyed the fact that it was soft and solid in the same way. The husband of mine, who likes mattress that are firm, and weighs under 200 pounds-70 pounds more than me-thought the mattress was too soft.
Whereas most online mattresses have a memory-foam density in the 3-pounds-per-cubic-foot range, the Loom & Leaf’s top layer has a 4-pounds-per-cubic-foot density with a gel-infused layer meant to assist with cooling (though cooling features like gel and perforations tend to have minimal impact). The mattress also has a 5-pounds-per-cubic-foot memory-foam layer underneath that top layer. Given those specs we believe that this mattress is less likely to slide or develop body indents as opposed to other foam mattresses even for people who weigh over 200 pounds (though it may not be suitable for those who weigh more than 250 pounds; check reviews from owners, below). As with any foam mattress, it offers quality motion isolation.
The year 2020 was the first time we tested our Loom & Leaf Relaxed Firm against the Serta iComfort (both are all-foam mattresses, which cost over $1,000) and found that twenty-one out of 29 users preferred that of the Loom & Leaf. “It felt softer” was the most frequent explanation; some even said it was more “cushioned.” When we test it in comparison to it against the Casper Wave in 2019, the results were less unified (18 to the Wave and 16 for the Loom & Leaf). Those who opted for more of the Loom & Leaf preferred its “cushier” or “more fitting” feel or appreciated the texture of its quilting; those who chose to go with the Casper Wave described the Wave as having more support , and the Loom & Leaf as making them feel more “stuck.”
We are also pleased our appreciation that Loom & Leaf, like all Saatva Company’s mattresses, is delivered without boxes, by movers. That means you don’t have to air it out, as you would numerous mattresses in boxes; the majority off-gassing is likely to have already occurred within the manufacturing facility.
The thing we don’t like about HTML0: We wish Saatva offered a firmness level between Relaxed Firm and Firm. two levels seem at least a few gradations from each other. And although the Loom & Leaf has better edge support than some of the more popular online models (such like the Leesa as well as the Casper), it’s not as robust as the hybrid (like those like the Leesa Hybrid or the Tempur-Adapt).
Despite the Loom and Leaf’s cooler gel, as well as its pin core (punctured) design touted in the top layer I did sleep a little warm on this mattress, which was surprising considering that I’m always cold. However, given that it was in the middle of winter, I didn’t mind any of it. The tiny holes designed to cool the foam could compromise the longevity of the foam, but it’s likely to be only marginally. Because it is the Loom & Leaf has a top layer memory-foam density of four grams per cubic foot it will be more durable than your typical $1000 or less online foam mattress.
Loom & Leaf top owner-review feedback
We only found 16 recently updated, top-quality owner reviews for Loom & Leaf. Loom & Leaf. Just as with Saatva Classic, as with Saatva Classic, good customer service stands out from the positive reviews. In 2019 , and in 2020, more reviewers described their experience with the Loom & Leaf as “too firm” than “too soft.” However it’s difficult to draw conclusions about the feel of the mattress. A lot of reviewers did not specify if they had ordered one of the Relaxed Firm or Firm.
We also noticed that reviewers who are heavier tend to review that the Loom & Leaf as too soft, or even too saggy. For instance, we found reviews on Reddit concerning this Relaxed Firm version being sagging for people who weigh more than 250 pounds. If that is you, you might try using the Firm version (though it’s extremely firm) as well as alternatively, the the Tempur-Adapt (which is also made of dense foam, but with a distinct memory foam hug). If you weigh over 200 pounds, you should think about an alternative like the Zenhaven, which is made of more durable latex foam. Saatva Mattress Coupon Codes
Do we recommend it? Yes.
Who’s it intended for The latex-foam Zenhaven is a good choice for people who sleep in any position, but especially those who like a supple cushion without that “sunk-in” feeling. It’s also good for people of all weights and sizes, including those who weigh over 200 pounds.
How it feels: This foam mattress is flippable and has handles that let you pick between two options: Its Luxury Plush aspect is located on the softer end of the medium-firm spectrum, and is suitable for sleepers who are side-sleepers. The Gentle Firm side offers a slightly firmer sensation (the company claims that it’s 20% firmer, and that sounds right to us).
What we like: The Zenhaven consists of two latex layers (one of which is a zoned one for pressure points and lower back support although this might not be beneficial in the light of your weight and where you sleep on the bed). Latex is a foam made from the milky sap the rubber tree and it is much better than polyurethane or memory foam, so we believe that this mattress will prove sturdy for people who weigh more than 200 pounds.
We love it that Zenhaven is specifically made out of Talalay latex that feels more flexible than Dunlop latex that is commonly used in less expensive, stiffer latex mattresses, like the Sleep On Latex Pure Green. The luxury Plush along with the Gentle Firm sides of the Zenhaven feel supple and not elastic. The bed as a whole is also more comfortable than beds made mostly with Dunlop latex.
I have slept upon the Zenhaven for a few months. I personally prefer a more-pillowy feel (like it’s counterpart, the Saatva Classic) However, the Luxury Plush side of the Zenhaven has gotten more comfortable to me. After breaking it in for a few weeks, I began to appreciate its supple smooth surface, with a slight springiness and cushioned cradle.
My son of 10 is also fond of jumping on it, and the Zenhaven’s motion isolation isn’t a barrier to me feeling it. However, it’s sufficient that I’m not aware of my husband’s movements in the evening. Edge support on the Zenhaven is superior to that of many foam mattresses, and even on the Loom & Leaf.
The husband of my friend, who weighs less than 200 pounds and sleeps on his back, has found Zenhaven to be more comfortable and appealing. Zenhaven to be more solid and appealing than the memory-foam Loom & Leaf The Relaxed Firm as well as the Saatva Classic Luxury Firm.
The Zenhaven is shipped by movers and not in a box, which means it’s less likely to give off that new-mattress smell in your home. It’s possible to switch between the softer Luxury Plush side and the Gentle Firm side as your preferences and needs shift, or if are unsure of the firmness degree you’ll prefer. Since the mattress is very heavy (the queen weighs 125 weight), Saatva will send Movers to assist you by completing a single “courtesy” switch.
The things we don’t love about HTML0:Although the Zenhaven has a more-supple feel than many other all-latex mattresses sold online but it’s less luxurious than similarly priced innersprings as well as traditional foam mattresses since it’s not conventionally “fluffy.” The mere 2 (of 29) staffers who were more satisfied than any other model in our 2020 study of foam and hybrid mattresses stated that they liked the fact that it was supportive and they thought it would last for a long time. (In the latex category, most staffers in our blind test preferred the PranaSleep Lotus Asana 6 in Plush, which has a latex-polyurethane-foam construction and costs over $1,000 more than the Zenhaven.)
Because the Zenhaven is particularly heavy and two-sided and two-sided, it must be placed on a solid, high-quality platform bed, or a frame and boxspring that are in good condition. Saatva sells the boxspring foundation (which comes in two heights) as well as a frame made of steel.
Zenhaven top owner-review feedback
We could find just 18 reviews from owners of high-quality for the Zenhaven-too small a sample size to offer any firm, non-subjective conclusions that go beyond the excellent customer service. However, we did discover a particularly descriptive blog post written by a more long-term owner with no weight (though he did say he was 6 feet 4 inches high).
He stated that after a year a half, he still was impressed by its cushion and strength, but because he hadn’t been turning the mattress around, there was a hip impression after which, when he started turning the mattress every 6 months, he reported that the imprint disappeared. We’ll update this section when we’ve collected more top-quality reviews. Saatva Mattress Coupon Codes
Saatva Latex Hybrid
What it’s designed intended forThe Saatva Latex Hybrid is most suited to those who prefer durability over extravagantness. It’s ideal for stomach- and back-sleepers as well as people who move around a lot. It should hold up well for the majority of people, even those who weigh more than 200 pounds.
How it feels:This 13-inch hybrid of latex and coil is on the firm side of medium-firm. It feels distinctly buoyant, somewhat bouncy and with some cushioning and the feeling of being cradled. It’s not a plush mattress but you sleep more on the mattress than inside it.
We like:The Saatva Latex Hybrid is constructed with high-quality materials and construction methods. The quilted surface, made of cotton as well as wool (a natural flame retardant) is hand-tufted onto the layers below it. Tufting (commonly used on upholstery or traditional-style innerspring mattresses) is a form of stitching with a heavy-duty structure which holds the layers together and is more durable than glue and avoids the potential chemical smell of adhesives. Its peaks as well as valleys created by the tufting may also help limit any obvious body impressions, and more so than the sock-covered, smooth-topped mattresses that are typically seen on hybrids that are sold online.
Though most hybrids place an layer of polyurethane foam over coils, the Saatva Latex Hybrid uses 3 inches of Talalay latex foam (which is ample, compared with the pricier Casper Wave, which uses half as much). Latex is naturally more durable and breathable than memory foams, or polyurethane. Talalay latex, used in the Zenhaven mattress, is a more breathable, supple and comfortable foam in comparison to the Dunlop type that is commonly found in low-cost latex mattresses.
Wirecutter’s supervising Editor Wendy Schley tested the Saatva Latex Hybrid for several months at home. She found it strong and supportive. “It feels almost buoyant,” she said. “There’s some cushioning to it, but it’s not luxurious in the way that a luxurious mattress would be.” Wendy found that the mattress had a bouncy springy feeling that reminded her of an innerspring. She was never stuck. However, the latex foam provided some motion-simplification. Edge support was superb, due to thick (13 3/4-gauge) 8-inch coils around the edges.
Due to its breathable material (the Talalay latex, cotton cover, and wool layer in the top) as well as the coils in the middle, the Saatva Latex Hybrid should sleep cooler than all-foam mattresses and hybrids made from polyfoams. Wendy who is known to sleep hot, found the Saatva Latex Hybrid to be notably cooler than other mattresses, though we haven’t tested it during the summer months.
We haven’t seen enough quality Saatva Latex Hybrid reviews to discern any trends, but we’ll update accordingly when we do.
What we don’t like about HTML0: Though the coils are individually wrapped, there’s still a touch of motion transfer, due to well, coils. It’s minimal compared with movement transfer that’s present on Saatva Classic, but it’s more pronounced than with all-foam alternatives such as Zenhaven, the Loom & Leaf or Zenhaven.
A queen-sized Latex Hybrid contains 789 coils (fewer than our top hybrid mattresses, the The Tempur-Adapt or the Leesa Hybrid, which have around 1,000). If a mattress is made up of fewer coils, it can mean that it won’t be able to adjust with your physique. However, the supple feel of the latex layer makes up for that.
As Wendy experienced that night, as Wendy experienced, the Saatva Latex Hybrid isn’t an ahhh kind of mattress. It’s as if it’s lifting you, instead of snuggling you down. It may not offer enough cushioning to provide sufficient pressure relief for side sleepers or back sleepers who require additional cushioning on specific joints.
Wendy, sleeping on both her back and side and reported that she occasionally woke up with soreness in her lower back and shoulders after sleeping on the Saatva Latex Hybrid. If you’re looking for something a bit more comfortable, you may prefer the Saatva Classic or the Loom & Leaf (both come in different degree of firmness, with some which feel more soft than the Saatva Latex).
The Latex Hybrid’s tufting is finished with attractive yarn tassels. They are pretty, but they appear to be flimsy as one of the tassels on the mattress Wendy was testing unraveled after just several weeks. Saatva Mattress Coupon Codes
Saatva Solaire Adjustable
The Saatva Solaire has an adjustable-air bed, consisting of foam on the top of air chambers which can be programmed to your preferred firmness level using the remote. We haven’t tried the Solaire yet, but we’ll update this guide once we’ve had the chance to. While we wait, let us discuss the information we have.
Saatva has introduced Solaire in the year 2019 to compete with Sleep Number’s top-of-the-line i8 bed. In addition to having air chambers and a remote, the Solaire is equipped with a pillow top, a Talalay the layer of latex, as well as the gel-infused memory foam layer. It’s also priced at $650 less over the Sleep Number’s i8.
The remote has 50 settings, compared with Sleep Number’s 20 settings, but in reality, we’re not sure if anyone really needs more than that. At a glance, the comfort components look like they’d provide a more-curve-conforming cradle than Sleep Number’s polyurethane foam layers.
But, of course we won’t be able to tell whether they’re the best choice until we lay in the bed. Solaire’s Talalay latex material suggests longevity, but because Sleep Number doesn’t provide any information about its foam components, it isn’t possible to claim that one mattress has more durability than another.
No matter if you want one of the twins or a king or something in between, you can order Solaire Solaire with any dimension you want as the standard model. Or, if you choose a queen or a King and want to upgrade, you can choose the Upper-Flex queen or King, or split king, all of which come with two air chambers, so sleep partners can pick their own firmness levels.
The standard model is compatible with every bed frame (including adjustable bases). But the Upper-Flex queen and King and split king options are designed to be specifically compatible with adjustable bases that allow each side to adjust independently.
Saatva Company offers adjustable frames. Saatva Company offers its own adjustable frames, including those with the Lineal Adjustable Base Standard and the Lineal Adjustable Base Upper-Flex. With the frame’s upper-flex, couples can utilize a remote to place their shoulders and head separately (for example, one of them can sleep on a flat bed while the other person sits and reads the book).
The upper-flex frame designed specifically for the split king Solaire can also allow both people to raise their lower bodies separately. We couldn’t find enough high-quality owner reviews to include here, but we’ll update this guide once we’re able to test the bed for ourselves and collect more reviews. Saatva Mattress Coupon Codes
In May, Saatva introduced the Saatva HD which is a hybrid mattress made for people who weigh between 300-500 pounds. We haven’t tried this mattress , yet. However, we’re hoping to do so in the future.
Similar to the Saatva Classic and the Loom & Leaf Saatva HD Saatva HD has a pillowy quilted top layer however the firm underlying foam and coil layers appear to be able to hold more weight. We’re particularly interested in the pillow top of the HD, because experts told us that for people who weigh more pillows can be especially susceptible to indentation.
The HD’s other components, however, seem promising as far as durability is concerned: There is a latex layer, which is typically stronger than memory foam, as well as a memory-foam layer, which has a density of 5 pounds per cubic foot (more than the 4-pounds-per-cubic-foot minimum that experts typically recommend for people who weigh over 200 pounds). Additionally the HD’s 12 1/2-gauge coils are more dense than those found in the other models of the company and the coils in rival models including the Big Fig.
Still, these aren’t the only criteria that affect the durability of a mattress and, by itself, does not make for a desirable mattress. We’ll be looking into the issues in a upcoming guide to mattresses that are suitable for those who weigh more than 200 pounds.Saatva “strongly recommends” that you put this mattress on a sturdy platform bed with a vertical center support.
Otherwise, representatives told us that you must purchase the HD together with the “high endurance” wooden-slat base.Again, we spotted very few user reviews that were positive. After we’ve had enough data to glean any trends and to test the mattress, we’ll give an update. Saatva Mattress Coupon Codes
The Saatva Youth is the company’s innovative coil-and-foam mattress for children costs more than mattresses for adults. However, it is dual-sided, with an inner coil sandwiched between two foam layers which means that the mattress will expand with the child.
One side of the mattress is intended for kids ages 3 through 7 and is comprised of zoned polyfoam with densities that range between 1.4 and 1.8 tons per square foot.
On the second side, meant for children older than (the company claims ages 8 through 12) the foam density can be as high as 1.5 tons per cubic feet. It’s also a bit softer because it’s paired with the firmer side that’s part of the coil. The 13 3/4 gauge coils range from 330 to a twin up to 350 when a twin is XL and 462 in a full.
The Saatva Youth is 10 inches thick and bunk-bed-friendly-as long as the bed’s guardrail is at least 5 inches higher than the mattress, for safety reasons. Those who prefer natural materials may appreciate the fact the fact that the mattress is covered in a thick, quilted organic-cotton covers and utilizes thistle pulp (as as opposed to fiberglass or chemical sprays) as the flame retardant. We haven’t tried the mattress as we haven’t found any reviews online. But we hope to assess it for a future guide to mattresses for kids.
It’s called the Saatva Youth is the company’s new coil-and-foam bed for kids, costs more than some mattresses for grown-ups. However, it is dual-sided, with a coil layer sandwiched between two layers of foam, so the mattress can be able to grow with a child.
