In the crowded field of mattresses sold online, Saatva stands apart in fundamental ways. It delivers its mattresses via truck, instead of in the form of a box. While, like other sellers on the internet, it has rapidly increased its inventory, Saatva remains focused on offering a variety of “luxury” designs, all priced less than it’s Youth model, more than $1,500 (for the queen size). Saatva Mattress Reddit
There’s no doubt that there’s a range of mattresses which are more luxurious than Saatva’s. They have more coils and better materials.
However, we consider Saatva’s mattresses to be one of the most stylish and thoughtfully designed options that are available from an online business.
Over the last three years, our team has tested the insidespring Saatva Classic, the memory-foam Loom and Leaf, as well as the all-latex Zenhaven, and they’ve consistently been among our top picks in our guide to the best foam mattresses as well as the best innerspring mattresses.
We’ve also slept on Saatva’s Saatva Latex Hybrid, and we’ve researched the design and construction of the other mattresses in the Saatva lineup. The majority of online mattresses are either hybrids or foams which is why the Saatva Classic stands out. It’s among the few innerspring mattresses that you can buy online.
Pocketed coils give the Saatva Classic a good amount of bounce close to the top, and a cushioned top provides a feeling of softness. As with all of the Saatva Company’s mattresses they are delivered by movers. Saatva Classic is delivered by moving trucks, not in a box. Saatva offers a generous 180-day trial period and simple returns.
All-foam Loom & Leaf is made of more dense memory foam than most mattresses that cost less than $1,000, which means it’s less likely to sag in time. It’s better for people who weigh over 200 pounds.
The quilted and thick cover is more cushier and sturdy than the sock-like cover that are found on many foam mattresses, and the cover helps the memory foam underneath feel less soft and squishy.
Like you would expect from a memory-foam bed The Loom and Leaf reduces motion better than an innerspring Saatva Classic.Zenhaven is a 100% foam mattress. Zenhaven is made up mainly of latex-specifically Talalay latex. It is made of the rubber tree’s milky sap, and is intrinsically robust. Talalay is more flexible than Dunlop latex, which is typically found in cheaper latex mattresses we’ve tested.
Zenhaven is a good choice. Zenhaven is also flippable (the Luxury Plush side feels medium-firm, whereas the Gentle Firm side feels a slightly firmer), which might prove helpful if you’re not sure which one you prefer, or if your needs change with time.
It’s not a typical soft mattress, but it provides a comfortable cushion, excellent edge support, and mild springiness.
Given its innate quality and its suppleness, the Zenhaven should work well for those who weigh more than 200 pounds. Saatva Mattress Reddit
Saatva’s portfolio of beds-many with a choice of firmness levels and catering to almost every comfort preference-includes:
- Saatva Classic (innerspring)
- Loom & Leaf (all foam)
- Zenhaven (all latex)
- Saatva Latex Hybrid (latex with coils)
- Solaire (a mattress with adjustable air chambers)
- Saatva HD (a hybrid made of latex and coil that is specifically designed for those who weigh 300 to 500 pounds)
- Saatva Youth (a foam-coil hybrid for children ages 3-12)
We haven’t done a deep dive into Saatva’s “natural” claims made by Saatva or other “eco-friendly” companies.
However, we know that the company makes use of organic wool or thistle pulp to act as a flame-retardant (as opposed to fiberglass or chemicals) and only organic cotton (instead of synthetic blends) in its cover.
Like other mattress brands online, Saatva touts such extras as zones for “optimal spinal support” but we’re not than thrilled with these extras and are more impressed with Saatva’s customer service that is responsive and durable foams and coils. Saatva Mattress Reddit
Saatva Video Review
Who it’s for:The Saatva Classic is likely to suit people who prefer a cushy (but not overly big and bulky) top layer, and an extremely durable, supple feel. This Luxury Firm variant (Saatva’s “Medium” offer) We tested it is a good choice for the back, side-, and stomach-sleepers. The soft Plush Soft version is targeted to side-sleepers, and the Firm version, to back- and stomach-sleepers.
What it feels like:We tested the Luxury Firm version of the Saatva Classic, the brand’s most sought-after model. We found it to be soft on top, and with excellent rebound and support. It has an incredibly firm feel but it becomes softer after a period of break-in time of a few months.
What we like:The Saatva Classic is one of the very few innerspring mattresses that you can buy online with the convenience typically associated with buying an inflatable foam mattress. It has 416 strong, sturdy coils at the base for support and 884 individually wrapped, more flexible coils that are stacked over top for pressure relief. There’s a slice of memory foam included in the mix, but the real cushioning comes from an inch of polyfoam-and-fiber Euro top (an additional layer of cushion sewn underneath the top). The result is a soft and comfortable appeal: it’s a bit bouncy, resilient, and supportive with a plushness that doesn’t feel bulky.
We tried the 14 1/2 -inch Saatva Classic in Luxury Firm in a group test of springs (it’s also available in 11 1/2 inches), and it captured the second-highest number of top-pick polls (nine among 39 testers) in the $1,000 to $2,000 category (which includes the Avocado and the Parachute and the top-ranked WinkBed). Five of the nine testers liked it more than the Saatva Classic better than any of the other mattresses on the test that day, including those that cost twice as expensive as the Saatva Classic. Two of the nine testers selected the Saatva Classic as their second-favorite overall.
As for the home test I was looking at it as if I could sleep in this bed every night. I’m not a fan of a bulky bed, so I was pleased how the Classic’s Euro top provided what seemed to me like just the perfect amount of cuddle. The bed is bouncy however not enough that my husband’s roll woke me up-to me, the buoyed up feel was worth the tradeoff in motion-isolation.
It’s priced at around $1,600 when not in sale (though it often is) The Saatva Classic is the least expensive innerspring mattress that we’ve tested that feels substantial and luxurious. We also love the fact that you can pick between three levels of firmness-Plush soft, luxury firm, or Firm. This means you’ll get a perfect fit regardless of which sleeping position you choose to sleep in. In contrast to the more sluggish WinkBed, another pick in the innerspring mattress guide The Saatva Classic is delivered unboxed by movers (so the “new mattresses smell” has already dissipated in the factory and during transport), and this “white gloves” delivery service is completely free. Saatva offers a huge 180-day trial period, and a 15-year warranty.
We don’t like: If you’re not fond of the bounce of a mattress, or if you’re sensitive to your sleep partner’s movements while in bed it’s likely that you won’t be a fan of this mattress. Saatva Classic. While all the coils on top are wrapped individually, the lower ones aren’t. therefore, the bed offers a bit more motion transfer than our other innerspring picks like the WinkBed. If you’re not a fan of any bounce You’re better off using Saatva’s Loom & Leaf.
Saatva Classic is a great mattress for couples. Saatva Classic also requires a little bit of time to get used to. When we first test the mattress, in 2018, it felt medium-firm; a year and a half later, we found that it had softened a bit but in a nice way (at least for me). It’s not a “Soft” mattress, however; those who prefer that might be interested in it out. Plush Soft version, which we haven’t tried yet.
While the company claims to have an “active Lumbar Zone” technology to provide “additional back support” our husband (who weighs in the vicinity of 200 pounds) still craved more support in the Luxury Firm. He might have found that feature in the version for Firm, but we haven’t had the chance to test the technology yet, so we aren’t able to know for sure. In general, we are not particularly impressed by zones because people have different sizes and heights, and they may spread in ways that don’t coincide with the patterns of zoning.
The foam density in the Saatva Classic are less than those in the Loom & Leaf, the company’s foam-mattress offering. While representatives from the company wouldn’t reveal details, we were informed that memory foam weighs at least 3 pounds in cubic feet, and the density of polyfoam equals 1 1/2 pounds of cubic feet.
This isn’t as great as those of the Loom & Leaf, but the specs are typical for an innerspring mattress, particularly ones in this price range. Contrary to foam mattresses these mattresses’ steel coils offer additional support, and the quilting could help prevent body impressions.
But as in this Reddit post suggests, some sleepers have had more success on Saatva mattresses. Saatva mattresses over the course of many years than others; we think that this could be due to the sleeper’s size and shape. Like all Euro- or pillow-top mattresses, the more you weigh the higher the chance of seeing sagging and imprints over time.
Therefore, you should rotate your mattress at least every six months, and then sleep all on top of your mattress.
Saatva Classic top owner-review feedback
We could find just 39 reviews from owners that were of high quality (those that weren’t fake or vague and were published recently, in the years 2019 and 2020). While the sample size is quite small, we believe it’s notable that nearly 30% of the positive reviews praised Saatva’s service to customers. This is a higher percentage than what we’ve seen from other mattress brands online.
We also noticed that six reviewers had mentioned sagging as an issue; one of them weighed more than 200 pounds and the other had a lower weight or didn’t say. All but one had owned the mattress for over a year at the time of their review. This indicates that turning the mattress is essential and heavier individuals who enjoy innersprings may want to consider an innerspring mattress that is more durable latex foam, like this one from the Charles P. Rogers Estate SE. Saatva Mattress Reddit
Saatva Loom & Leaf
What it’s designed to be used for The all-foam Loom & Leaf appeals to those who appreciate memory foam that holds instead of encasing them in a tense, sluggish hug. The soft Relaxed Firm model is a good choice for those who sleep on their sides. This version, called Firm is made for stomach or back sleepers. If you weigh over 200 pounds might be able to find the Firm version to be more supportive than the Relaxed Firm.
What it feels like:The Relaxed Firm is a medium-firm mattress that cradles without pulling you in. The Firm (which we’ve tested only in a showroom) is firmer.
What we likeabout it: The 12-inch thick Loom & Leaf comes with a durable, quilted, and sturdy cover that’s similar to what you’d find on an innerspring mattress (by contrast, the majority of memory foam mattresses come with flimsier, sock-like covers). That cover contains its own foam padding that adds more depth to the normally simple squishiness of memory foam mattresses. I slept on the Relaxed Firm at home for more than an entire week and loved that it was soft and substantial in the same way. Our husband who loves mattress that are firm, and weighs less than 200 pounds, which is 70 pounds more than me-thought the mattress was too soft.
Whereas most online mattresses have a memory-foam density in the 3-pounds-per-cubic-foot range, the Loom & Leaf’s top layer has a 4-pounds-per-cubic-foot density with a gel-infused layer meant to assist with cooling (though cooling features like gel and perforations tend to have minimal impact). The mattress also has a 5-pounds-per-cubic-foot memory-foam layer underneath that top layer. With these specifications, we think this mattress is less likely to slide or form body indentions as compared to cheaper foam mattresses, even for those who weigh more than 200 pounds (though it may not be suitable when you weigh greater than 250 pounds; read reviews from owners, below). As with any foam mattress, it also offers quality motion isolation.
In 2020, we tested the Loom & Leaf Relaxed Firm against the Serta iComfort (both are all-foam mattresses, which cost more than $1000), and 20 out of 29 people preferred that of the Loom & Leaf. “It was softer” was a common explanation; some even described it as being more “cushioned.” We examined it with it against the Casper Wave in 2019, the results were less unified (18 to the Wave and 16 , for the Loom & Leaf). Those who opted for that Loom & Leaf preferred its “cushier” or “more fitting” feeling or the feel of its quilting and those who opted for more of the Casper Wave described the Wave as having more support and it was more supportive. Loom & Leaf as making the feel of being “stuck.”
We also like that the Loom & Leaf, like the rest of Saatva Company’s mattresses is delivered in a box, and by the movers. This means that you don’t need to blow it out like you do with the majority of mattresses that are boxed; off-gassing will have occurred within the factory.
We don’t love HTML0: We wish Saatva had a firmness level that was between Relaxed Firm and Firm. two levels are to be at least a couple of degrees apart. Although the Loom & Leaf has better edge support than the other popular online models (such as the Leesa as well as the Casper), it’s not as robust as a Hybrid (like those like the Leesa Hybrid or the Tempur-Adapt).
Despite the Loom & Leaf’s cool gel as well as the pin-core (punctured) design, which is advertised on the top layer, I did sleep a little warm on the mattress, which was a surprise since I’m usually cold. Given that it was in the middle of winter, I didn’t feel too much. The tiny holes made for cooling could affect the longevity that the foam has, though it’s likely to be only marginally. Since this Loom & Leaf has a top layer of memory foam that weighs 4 grams per cubic foot it should be more durable than the typical $1,000-or-less online foam mattress.
Loom & Leaf top owner-review feedback
We only found 16 recently updated, top-quality reviewers of the Loom & Leaf. Just as with similar to the Saatva Classic, excellent customer service is a standout among the positive feedback. In 2019 and 2020, more reviewers described this Loom & Leaf as “too firm” rather than “too too soft.” But it’s not easy to make a conclusion about the feel of the mattress. Many reviewers didn’t specify whether they’d purchased one of the Relaxed Firm or the Firm.
Also, we noticed that more seasoned reviewers often review their experience with the Loom & Leaf as too soft or even saggy. We found reviews on Reddit regarding this Relaxed Firm version sagging for those who weigh around 250 pounds. If this is you, you might try the Firm version (though, again, it’s very stiff) as well as it could be the the Tempur-Adapt (which is also made of dense foam but a more-distinct memory foam hug). If you weigh more than 200 pounds, you should consider the Zenhaven Zenhaven, which is constructed with intrinsically more-durable latex foam. Saatva Mattress Reddit
Do we recommend it? Yes.
Who’s it to be used for Its latex foam Zenhaven is a good choice for people who sleep in any position, but especially those who like a supple cushion that doesn’t give the “sunk-in” feeling. It’s also good for those of all weights and sizes, including those who weigh over 200 pounds.
What it feels like: The foam mattress can be flipped and has handles to help you easily pick between two options that are: The Luxury Plush aspect is at the gentle side of the medium-firm range, and it’s good for side-sleepers. This side’s Gentle Firm side offers a slightly more firmer feeling (the company says it’s about 20% firmer, and that seems right to us).
What we likeabout it: The Zenhaven comprises of two latex layers (one that is zoned to provide pressure points and lower back support, though this may or may not be helpful, depending on your size and the position you sleep on the bed). Latex is a kind of foam made from the milky sap of the rubber tree and it is intrinsically stronger than polyurethane foam or memory foam, so we believe that this mattress is sturdy for people who weigh over 200 pounds.
We like that the Zenhaven is constructed specifically from Talalay latex which is more soft than Dunlop latex that is commonly used in cheaper, stiffer latex mattresses like the Sleep On Latex Pure Green. The luxurious Plush as well as the Gentle Firm sides of the Zenhaven feel springy without being elasticky. The whole bed is also more comfortable than beds that are mostly made from Dunlop latex.
I have slept on the Zenhaven for several months. I personally prefer a more-pillowy feel (like those of Saatva Classic) However, the Luxury Plush part of the Zenhaven has gotten more comfortable to me. After breaking it in for a few weeks, I began to appreciate its supple, slightly springy surface and the cushioned cradle.
My son, who is 10, enjoys playing on it, and the Zenhaven’s motion-isolation feature isn’t a barrier to me experiencing it. However, it’s sufficient that I don’t notice my husband’s movements during the night. The edge support is higher than the majority of foam mattresses, including on the Loom & Leaf.
Our husband who weighs barely 200 pounds and sleeps on his back, finds that the Zenhaven to be more substantive and attractive than the memory foam Loom & Leaf the Relaxed firm or it’s Saatva Classic Luxury Firm.
The Zenhaven is shipped by movers and not in a box, which means you’re less likely emit that new-mattress smell in your home. You can switch between the softer Luxury Plush side and the Gentle Firm side as your preferences and preferences change, or if you are unsure of the firmness level you’d like. Because the mattress is heavy (the queen is 130 kilograms), Saatva will send moving experts to help you out with a one-time “courtesy” flip.
What we don’t like:Although the Zenhaven has a more-supple feel than many other online all-latex mattresses but it’s less luxurious as comparable innersprings and traditional foam mattress due to the fact that it’s not traditionally “fluffy.” The mere 2 (of 29) staff members who enjoyed it more than other models in our test of 2020 mattress hybrids and foam said they liked its firmness, and that they believed it would last a long time. (In the latex category, most staffers in our blind test preferred the PranaSleep Lotus Asana 6 in Plush, which has a latex-polyurethane-foam construction and costs over $1,000 more than the Zenhaven.)
Since the Zenhaven is extremely heavy and two-sided and two-sided, it must be placed on a solid, high-quality platform bed or a frame and boxspring in good shape. Saatva offers a Boxspring Foundation (which comes in two sizes) as well as a frame made of steel.
Zenhaven top owner-review feedback
We were able to find only 18 high-quality owner reviews for Zenhaven. It’s a tiny sample size to provide any conclusive, objective, and non-subjective information in addition to satisfactory customer service. We did however find an extremely descriptive review from a long-term owner of unknown weight (though the owner did state that he was 6 feet 4 inches high).
He claimed that, after a year and an half, he loved its cushion and durability but, since he had not been rotating the mattressregularly, the impression on his hip was evident; when he started rotating the mattress each six months, he said the imprint disappeared. We’ll update this page when we’ve collected more top-quality reviews. Saatva Mattress Reddit
Saatva Latex Hybrid
Who it’s for:The Saatva Latex Hybrid is most suited to those who value durability over extravagantness. It’s great for back and stomach sleepers and people who move around often. It should hold up well for most people, not just those who weigh over 200 pounds.
What it feels like:This 13-inch hybrid of latex and coil is in the middle of medium-firm. It feels distinctly buoyant, slightly bouncy, and has some cushioning and hugging. It’s definitely not plush however, and it’s more comfortable to sleep the mattress the mattress than within it.
We like:The Saatva Latex Hybrid is built using high-quality materials and techniques for construction. The quilted surface, made out of cotton, as well as wool (a natural flame-repellant) is hand-tufted onto the layers below it. Tufting (commonly found on furniture or traditional-style innerspring mattresses) is a form of stitching with a heavy-duty structure which holds the layers together, which some argue is more durable than glue, and eliminates the chemical smell that adhesives can emit. Its peaks as well as valleys produced by tufting could reduce any visible body impressions, and more so than the sock-covered and smooth-topped mattresses you typically see in hybrids sold online.
Although most hybrids use the polyurethane layer over coils, Saatva’s Saatva Latex Hybrid uses 3 inches of Talalay latex foam (which is plenty, when compared with the pricey Casper Wave, which uses only half the amount). Latex is inherently more breathable and durable than memory foams, or polyurethane. Talalay latex, utilized in the Zenhaven model, is a much more breathable, supple and comfortable foam as opposed to the Dunlop varieties that are typically found in low-cost latex mattresses.
Wirecutter supervising editor Wendy Schley tested the Saatva Latex Hybrid for a few months at home. She found it strong and supportive. “It seems almost buoyant,” she said. “There’s some cushioning to it but it’s not luxurious in the way that a luxurious mattress would be.” Wendy found that the mattress was bouncy springy feeling that reminded her of a traditional innerspring-she did not feel stuck, but the latex foam offered some motion isolation. The edge support is great, due to thick (13 3/4 -gauge) 8-inch coils along the edge.
Because of its breathable materials (the Talalay latex, cotton cover, and wool layer in the top) and coils, the Saatva Latex Hybrid should sleep cooler than all foam mattresses or hybrids that are made of polyfoams. Wendy, who tends to sleep hot, found it to be cooler than the Saatva Latex Hybrid to be considerably cooler than the other mattresses, though we haven’t tried it during the summer months.
We haven’t spotted enough good-quality Saatva Latex Hybrid reviews to glean any trends, but we’ll update accordingly when we can.
We don’t love: Though the coils are wrapped in a single piece however, there’s a bit of motion transfer, due to they’re coils. It’s minimal compared with movement transfer that’s present on Saatva Classic, but it’s much more prominent than with all-foam alternatives such as the Loom & Leaf or Zenhaven.
A queen-sized Latex Hybrid contains 789 coils (fewer than in our favorite hybrid mattresses, the the Tempur-Adapt or the Leesa Hybrid, with around 1,000). When a mattress has fewer coils, this can mean the mattress won’t conform as well in your shape. However, the supple feel from the soft latex more than makes up for that.
As Wendy has experienced that night, as Wendy experienced, the Saatva Latex Hybrid isn’t an an ahhh type of mattress. It’s like it’s lifting you, rather than nestling you in. It may not offer enough cushioning to provide enough pressure relief to side sleepers as well as back-sleepers who require additional cushioning on certain joints.
Wendy sleeping on both her back and side and reported that she occasionally felt sore in her lower back and shoulders after sleeping on the Saatva Latex Hybrid. If you’re looking for something a bit more comfortable, you may be interested in one of the Saatva Classic or the Loom & Leaf (both are available in a variety of degree of firmness, with some that feel softer than the Saatva Latex).
The Latex Hybrid’s tufting is finished with decorative yarn tassels. They are pretty, but they are reportedly flimsy attached, and some of them that were on the mattress Wendy tried to unraveled after several weeks. Saatva Mattress Reddit
Saatva Solaire Adjustable
The Saatva Solaire can be described as an adjustable-air bed, consisting of foam on top of air chambers, which can be programmed to the firmness you want with a remote. We haven’t tried the Solaire yet however, we’ll update this guide when we’ve had the chance to. While we wait, let us discuss the information we have.
Saatva introduced the Solaire in 2019 to rival the Sleep Number’s premium i8 bed. In addition to having air chambers as well as a remote, the Solaire is equipped with the option of a pillow top, Talalay Latex Layer, and an infused memory foam layer. It’s also cheaper by $650 that the Sleep Number I8.
The remote comes with 50 options in comparison to Sleep Number’s 20, but it’s hard to say whether anyone really needs more than that. At a glance, the comfort components look like they’d provide a more-curve-conforming cradle than Sleep Number’s polyurethane foam layers.
However, we can’t know what we’re getting until we lay in the bed. Solaire’s Talalay latex material suggests longevity, but because Sleep Number doesn’t provide any details on its foam materials, we can’t claim that one mattress will last longer than the others.
Whether you choose one of the twins, a king, or something in between You can purchase this Solaire in any size you want as an ordinary model. If you decide to go with either a queen or a King, you can upgrade to the Upper-Flex queen or King, or split king. All of them feature dual air chambers meaning that the sleepers can select their own level of firmness.
The standard model works on any bed frame (including adjustable bases). But the Upper-Flex queen and King and split king option are designed to specifically work on adjustable bases, which allow both sides to be adjusted independently.
Saatva Company offers adjustable frames. Saatva Company offers its own adjustable frames, which include those with the Lineal Adjustable Base Standard and the Lineal Adjustable Base Upper-Flex. With the frame’s upper-flex, couples can use a remote to place their shoulders and heads separately (for example, one of them can lay flat and sleep while the other one sits and reads a book).
The Upper-Flex frame that is designed specifically for the split king Solaire also allows both individuals to raise their bodies independently. We couldn’t find enough high-quality user reviews to put on this list however we’ll be updating this guide when we’re in a position to test the bed for ourselves and gather more reviews. Saatva Mattress Reddit
In May 2019, Saatva introduced the Saatva HD, a hybrid mattress specifically designed for those who weigh between 300 to 500 pounds. We haven’t yet tested the mattress , yet. However, we’re planning to try it out in the near future.
Similar to Saatva Classic and the Loom & Leaf the Saatva HD has a pillowy, quilted top layer, however the firm underlying foam and coil layers are said to support heavier weights. We’re particularly curious about the pillow top of the HD, since experts have told us that for heavier people the top of pillows could be especially susceptible to indentation.
The HD’s other components, however, seem promising as far as durability is concerned: There is a latex layer, which is typically stronger than memory foam, as well as a memory-foam layer, which has a density of 5 pounds per cubic foot (more than the 4-pounds-per-cubic-foot minimum that experts typically recommend for people who weigh over 200 pounds). What’s more is that the HD’s 12 1/2 -gauge coils are thicker than the coils in the company’s other models and those in its competitors, such as The Big Fig.
Still, these aren’t the only things that impact the durability of a mattress and, by itself, doesn’t make for an appealing mattress. We’ll explore these issues further in an forthcoming guide to mattresses that are suitable for those who weigh over 200 pounds.Saatva “strongly strongly suggests” that you put this mattress on a sturdy platform bed that has vertical center support.
In other words, Saatva representatives advised us that you should purchase the HD along with its special “high durability” wooden-slat base.Again, we spotted very few user reviews that were positive. After we’ve had enough data to identify any trends and to test the mattress, we’ll send an update. Saatva Mattress Reddit
It’s called the Saatva Youth, the company’s relatively new coil-and-foam bed for kids costs more than mattresses designed for adults. However, it is dual-sided, with an inner coil sandwiched between two layers of foam, so the mattress can be able to grow with the kid.
Its first layer is designed for kids ages 3 through 7 years old, and it is made up of polyfoam that is zoned, with density ranging from 1.4 and 1.8 tons per square foot.
The second side is meant for children older than (the company claims ages 8 through 12), the foam density is 1.5 tons per cubic feet, and is slightly softer because it’s paired with the firmer side that’s part of the coil. The 13 3/4 gauge coils vary from 330 in a twin to 350 when a twin is XL. They also go up to 462 for a full.
The Saatva Youth is 10 inches thick and bunk-bed-friendly-as long as the bed’s guardrail is at least 5 inches higher than the mattress, for safety reasons. Those who prefer natural materials will appreciate that the mattress is encased in a quilted, thick organic cotton cover. It also uses thistle pulp (as opposed to fiberglass or chemical sprays) as the flame retardant. We haven’t yet tried this mattress and we haven’t seen any reviews online. But we hope to assess it in the future for a guide on mattresses for children.
