In the crowded field of online mattresses, Saatva stands apart in fundamental ways. Saatva delivers its mattresses by truckinstead of boxes. Even though, as with other online sellers the company has quickly developed its range, Saatva remains focused on a range of “luxury” models, each priced at, with the exception of the Youth model, over $1500 (for the queen size). Saatva Reddit
Sure, there’s a galaxy of mattresses that are more lavish than Saatva’s, with greater coil counts and more refined materials.
But we find Saatva’s mattresses one of the most stylish and thoughtfully designed options that are available from an online business.
Over the last three years, our team has tested our Innerspring Saatva Classic, the memory-foam Loom and Leaf, as well as the all-latex Zenhaven, and they’ve consistently earned a spot as one of our top choices in our guides to the best foam mattresses as well as the top innerspring mattresses.
We’ve also experienced sleeping on the Saatva latex hybrid, and we’ve researched the construction and components of the other beds from Saatva’s line-up.The majority of mattresses sold online are either hybrids or foams so it’s no surprise that the Saatva Classic stands out. It’s among the few innerspring mattresses that you can buy online.
Pocketed coils give the Saatva Classic a good amount of bounce near the top, and a extra soft top makes it more comfortable. As with the other Saatva Company mattresses that are available, the Saatva Classic is delivered by moving trucks, not in a box. Saatva offers a generous 180-day trial period and simple returns.
All-foam Loom & Leaf is made of more dense memory foam than the majority of under-$1,000 mattresses, so it’s less likely to sag in time. For that reason, it’s more suitable for those who weigh greater than 200 pounds.
The thick, quilted cover is cushier and more sturdy than the sock-like cover on most foam mattresses, and that cover makes the memory-foam layer underneath feel less soft and squishy.
Like you would expect from a memory-foam bed the Loom and Leaf is able to limit movement better as compared to those with innersprings like the Saatva Classic.Zenhaven is a 100% foam mattress. Zenhaven comprises primarily of latex, specifically Talalay latex. It’s made from the plant’s milky sap. It is incredibly durable. Talalay is more flexible than Dunlop latex that is commonly found in the less expensive latex mattresses that we’ve tried.
Zenhaven is a good choice. Zenhaven can be flippable (the Luxury Plush side feels medium-firm, whereas Gentle Firm feels a bit firmer). Gentle Firm side feels a bit firmer), which might prove useful if you’re not certain what you prefer or if your needs change over time.
This isn’t a traditional cushiony mattress, however it offers a supple cushion, good edge support, as well as a subtle springiness.
Because of its robustness, the Zenhaven should work well for people who weigh greater than 200 pounds. Saatva Reddit
Saatva’s portfolio of beds-many with a choice of firmness levels and catering to almost every comfort preference-includes:
- Saatva Classic (innerspring)
- Loom & Leaf (all foam)
- Zenhaven (all latex)
- Saatva Latex Hybrid (latex with coils)
- Solaire (a mattress with air chambers that can be adjusted)
- Saatva HD (a hybrid of latex and coils specifically designed for those who weigh between 300 and 500 pounds)
- Saatva Youth (a foam-coil-based hybrid designed for kids aged 3 to 12)
We haven’t done a deep dive into the “natural” claims of Saatva or of other “eco-friendly” brands.
We do know that Saatva uses thistle pulp or organic wool as a flame retardant (as opposed to chemicals or fiberglass) as well as only natural cotton (instead of synthetic blends) in its cover.
As do other online mattress manufacturers, Saatva touts such extras as zones for “optimal spine support”; we’re less satisfied with these features, but we’re more impressed by Saatva’s responsive customer service and its durable coils and foams. Saatva Reddit
Saatva Video Review
Who’s it intended forThe Saatva Classic will likely appeal to people who prefer a cushy (but not overwhelmingly billowy) top layer and an extremely durable, supple feel. This Luxury Firm version (Saatva’s “Medium” offer) We tested it will be suitable for the back, sidestomach and side-sleepers. The softer Plush Soft version caters primarily to side-sleepers, and the Firm version, for stomach and back-sleepers.
How it feels:We tested the Luxury Firm version of the Saatva Classic – the model with the most popularity-and found it to be soft to the touch, and has good support and bounce. It begins with the feel of a firm, square shape, but it softens slightly after the break-in period that lasts a couple of months.
What we like:The Saatva Classic is one of the very few innerspring mattresses that can be purchased online without the convenience often associated with purchasing the traditional boxed foam mattress. It has 416 strong, solid coils at its base for support, and 884 individually wrapped, more flexible coils stacked on top, to provide pressure relief. There’s a small amount of memory foam included in the mix, however the actual cushioning comes from an inch of polyfoam-and-fiber Euro top (an extra layer of cushion that is sewn beneath the surface). The resulting feel has broad appeal-supportive, resilient, and with a softness that isn’t a hefty billowy sensation.
We test the 14 1/2 -inch Saatva Classic in Luxury Firm in a 2021 group test for springs (it’s offered in 11 inches) and it racked up the second highest number of top-rated votes (nine out of 39 test participants) in the $1,000 to $2,000 category (which comprised three other mattresses: the Avocado and the Parachute and the top-ranked WinkBed). Five of those nine testers loved the Saatva Classic better than any of the other mattresses on the same test which included mattresses which cost twice as much and two of the nine testers chose the Saatva Classic as their second-favorite overall.
In the case of the test at home I was looking forward to sleeping in this bed each night. I’m not a fan of a billowy bed, so I was pleased that the Classic’s Euro top provided what seemed to me to be just the ideal amount of cuddling. The bed is bouncy but not so much that my husband’s tumbling over woke me up-to me, the feeling of buoyancy was worth the sacrifice in motion isolation.
Around $1,600 if it’s not on sale (though it’s often), the Saatva Classic is the least expensive innerspring mattress we’ve tried that feels substantial and a bit luxe. We also love the fact that you have the option of choosing from three different levels of firmness: Plush Soft, Luxury Firm or Firm. This means you’ll find the right one regardless of the position you sleep in. In contrast to the more sluggish WinkBed, another pick in the innerspring mattress guide Saatva Classic is Saatva Classic is delivered unboxed by movers (so that the “new scent of the mattress” has already dissipated in the factory and in transit), and this “white glove” delivery service is free. The company offers a generous 180-day trial period and the warranty for 15 years.
We don’t likeabout: If you don’t like a bouncy mattress, or are insensitive to your partner’s movements, you probably won’t like this mattress. Saatva Classic. Although the top coils are individually wrapped the lower ones aren’t. which means that the mattress has some motion transfer than the other innerspring choices like that of the WinkBed. If you’re not a fan of any bounce You’re better off using Saatva’s Loom & Leaf.
It is worth noting that the Saatva Classic also requires a bit of break-in time. When we first test the mattress in the year 2018 it was medium-firm. a year and a quarter later we noticed that it had softened a bit however in a pleasing way (at at least to me). This is not an “Soft” mattress, however; those who prefer it might want to try this Plush Soft version, which we haven’t tested yet.
Although the company touts an “active Lumbar Zone” technology to provide “additional back support,” our husband (who weighs less than 200 pounds) wanted more support when he was in the Luxury Firm. He might have found that feature in the version for Firm but we haven’t tested the technology at this point, therefore we aren’t able to be sure. In general, we’re not particularly impressed by zones because people are of different heights and shapes, and they could spread out in ways that don’t conform to the zoning patterns.
The foam densities in Saatva Classic are lower than those in Saatva Classic are less than those found in Loom & Leaf, the company’s foam-mattress offering. While representatives from the company wouldn’t reveal details, we were informed that memory foam weighs at least 3 pounds per cubic foot and the polyfoam density equals 1 1/2 pounds of cubic feet.
These aren’t as high than the density of the Loom & Leaf, but these are the norm in an innerspring mattress and particularly one in this price category. Unlike with foam mattresses, this mattress’s steel coils provide additional support, and the quilting can help reduce body impressions.
However, as this Reddit post indicates, some sleepers have had more success on the Saatva mattresses over the course of several years than others; we think this likely depends on the shape and size of the sleeper. As with all thick Euro- or pillow-top mattresses the heavier you are the greater chance of seeing sagging and imprints as time passes.
Therefore, you should rotate your mattress diligently at least every six months and sleep all over the bed.
Saatva Classic top owner-review feedback
We found just 39 reviews from owners that were of high quality (those that didn’t seem untrue or unclear and were published in the past, both in the years 2019 and 2020). Although the sample size is relatively small, we think it’s interesting that more than 30% of positive reviews praised Saatva’s service to customers. This is more than what we’ve seen with other mattress brands online.
We also noticed that six reviewers mentioned sagging as the cause of their discomfort. One of them had a weight of more than 200 pounds while the others had a lower weight or didn’t mention. All but one had been using the mattress for more than a year at the time the review was written. This suggests that rotating the mattress is vital and heavier individuals who enjoy innersprings might consider an innerspring mattress that is more durable latex foam, such as the Charles P. Rogers Estate SE. Saatva Reddit
Saatva Loom & Leaf
What it’s designed to be used for The all-foam Loom & Leaf appeals to those who like a memory foam that holds, as opposed to engulfing them in a tense, sluggish hug. The soft Relaxed Firm model is a good choice for those who sleep on their sides. The Firm version is designed for stomach or back sleepers. If you weigh over 200 pounds could consider the Firm to be more comfortable than the Relaxed Firm.
What it feels like:The Relaxed Firm is a medium-firm mattress that cradles without tying you in; it’s the firm (which we’ve tried only in an actual showroom) is much firmer.
What we like: The 12-inch-thick Loom & Leaf comes with a durable, quilted, and sturdy cover, similar to the one you’d find on an innerspring mattress (by contrast, many memory foam mattresses come with flimsier, sock-like covers). The cover is made of foam padding that adds more depth to the normally single-note squishiness that is common to memory-foam mattresses. I lay on the Relaxed Firm at home for more than an entire week and enjoyed the fact that it was soft and substantial in the same way. The husband of mine, who loves firm mattresses and weighs just less than 200 pounds, which is 70 pounds more than me-thought the mattress was too soft.
Whereas most online mattresses have a memory-foam density in the 3-pounds-per-cubic-foot range, the Loom & Leaf’s top layer has a 4-pounds-per-cubic-foot density with a gel-infused layer meant to assist with cooling (though cooling features like gel and perforations tend to have minimal impact). The mattress also has a 5-pounds-per-cubic-foot memory-foam layer underneath that top layer. Based on these specs it is our opinion that this mattress is less likely to slide or form body indentions than cheaper foam mattresses, even for those who weigh more than 200 pounds (though it may not be suitable when you weigh greater than 250 pounds; check the owner review feedback, below). As with all foam mattresses, this one also provides excellent motion isolation.
The year 2020 was the first time we conducted a test of the Loom & Leaf Relaxed Firm against the Serta iComfort (both are all-foam mattresses, which cost more than $1,000) and found that 20 out of 29 people preferred that of the Loom & Leaf. “It felt softer” was a popular motive; however, some claimed it was more “cushioned.” In the event that we examined against the Casper Wave in 2019 and the results were more split (18 in favor of the Wave and 16 for that of the Loom & Leaf). Those who opted for that Loom & Leaf preferred its “cushier” or “more conforming” feel or appreciated the texture of its quilting and those who opted for the Casper Wave described the Wave as being more supportive and the Loom & Leaf as making them feel more “stuck.”
We also like our appreciation that Loom & Leaf, like all of the Saatva Company’s mattresses, comes delivered without boxes, by moving trucks. This means that you don’t need to blow it out like you do with numerous mattresses in boxes; the majority off-gassing will have occurred in the manufacturing facility.
We don’t love HTML0: We wish Saatva offered a firmness level between Firm and Relaxed Firm. The two levels appear to be to be at least a couple of degrees from each other. And although it is true that the Loom & Leaf has better edge support than the other popular online models (such such as Leesa and Casper) Casper), it isn’t as sturdy as a Hybrid (like that of the Leesa Hybrid or Tempur-Adapt).
Despite the Loom and Leaf’s cooling gel and pin core (punctured) design touted in the top layer, I was able to sleep quite warm on the mattress, which was surprising considering that I’m always cold. However, given that it was mid-winter of winter, I didn’t care any of it. The tiny holes that are designed for cooling could affect the longevity that the foam has, but likely only a little. Given that this Loom & Leaf has a top-layer memory-foam density of 4 grams per cubic foot it’s likely to be more durable than the typical foam mattress that costs less than $1,000.
Loom & Leaf top owner-review feedback
We have only found 16 high-quality, recent user reviews for Loom & Leaf. Loom & Leaf. Just as with the Saatva Classic, the quality of customer service has stood out among the positive feedback. In the years 2019 and 2020 many reviewers said that their experience with the Loom & Leaf as “too firm” than “too smooth.” But it’s not easy to draw conclusions about its feel. A lot of reviewers did not specify if they’d purchased either the Relaxed Firm or Firm.
Also, we noticed that more seasoned reviewers often refer to that the Loom & Leaf as too soft, or even too saggy. For instance, we found complaints on Reddit concerning the Relaxed Firm version being sagging for those who weigh around 250 pounds. If this is your case, consider using the Firm version (though, again, it’s very firm) or it could be the the Tempur-Adapt (which is also made of dense foam, but it has a more distinct memory-foam hug). If you weigh over 200 pounds, you should think about an alternative like the Zenhaven, which is constructed with intrinsically more-durable latex foam. Saatva Reddit
Does it merit our recommendation? Yes.
Who’s it to be used for This latex foam Zenhaven is a good choice for people that sleep at any angle, especially those who like a supple cushion, but without that “sunk-in” sensation. It’s also good for people of all weights that include those who weigh over 200 pounds.
How it feels: This foam mattress can be turned over, and it has handles that allow you to pick between two options The Luxury Plush side is on the gentle side of the medium-firm range, and is suitable for sleepers who are side-sleepers. This side’s Gentle Firm side offers a slightly more firmer feeling (the company says it’s about 20 percent more firmer, and that is what we think it is).
What we like: Zenhaven Zenhaven comprises of two latex layers (one of which is a zoned one for lower-back support and pressure points although this could not be useful, depending on your size and where you sleep on the bed). Latex is a type of foam that comes by the milky sap of the rubber tree and is stronger than polyurethane foam or memory foam. Therefore, we believe that this mattress is more robust for those who weigh more than 200 pounds.
We are impressed it that Zenhaven is constructed specifically from Talalay latex which is more flexible than Dunlop latex typically found in stiffer, less expensive latex mattresses, such as the Sleep on Latex Pure Green. The Luxury Plush along with the Gentle Firm sides of the Zenhaven feel springy without being elastic. The entire bed is also more breathable than beds made mostly with Dunlop latex.
I have slept in the Zenhaven for a few months. Personally, I prefer a soft feel (like that of the Saatva Classic) however, the Luxury Plush part of the Zenhaven had grown on me. After putting it to the test for a couple of weeks, I came to appreciate its soft, slightly springy surface and cushioned cradle.
My son of 10 is also fond of climbing on it and the Zenhaven’s motion isolation isn’t a barrier to me being a bit uncomfortable about that. But it’s good enough that I don’t feel the need to notice my husband’s movements at night. The edge support is slightly higher than the majority of foam mattresses, such as the Loom & Leaf.
Our husband who is less than 200 pounds and usually sleeps on his back, has found that the Zenhaven as more substantial and more appealing than the memory foam Loom & Leaf the Relaxed Firm or it’s Saatva Classic Luxury Firm.
The Zenhaven is delivered by movers and not in a box, so you’re less likely give off that fresh-mattress smell to your home. It’s possible to switch between the more soft Luxury Plush side as well as the Gentle Firm side as your preferences and preferences change, or you don’t know which level you’ll like. Because the mattress is heavy (the queen weighs 125 kilograms), Saatva will send moving experts to help you out by completing a single “courtesy” flip.
The things we don’t love about HTML0:Although the Zenhaven has more supple and soft feel than other online all-latex mattresses however, it’s not as luxurious than comparable innersprings, and traditional foam mattress due to the fact that it’s not conventionally “fluffy.” It was the only 2 (of 29) employees who enjoyed it more than the other models in our 2020 study of the hybrid and foam mattresses said they enjoyed the fact that it was supportive and believed that it could last a long duration. (In the latex category, most staffers in our blind test preferred the PranaSleep Lotus Asana 6 in Plush, which has a latex-polyurethane-foam construction and costs over $1,000 more than the Zenhaven.)
Because the Zenhaven is particularly heavy and has two sides and two-sided, it must be placed on a sturdy, good-quality platform bed, or a frame and boxspring in good shape. Saatva offers a Boxspring Foundation (which comes in two heights) plus a metal frame.
Zenhaven top review of owner feedback
We could find only 18 quality reviews of owners for the Zenhaven. This is a small sample size to provide any firm, non-subjective conclusions, beyond excellent customer service. We did however find one particularly insightful review written by a more long-term owner with no weight (though he did say he was 6 feet 4 inches high).
He stated that after a year a half, he still loved its cushion and durability, but because he hadn’t been rotating the mattress, there was a hip impression and when he began rotating the mattress every 6 months, he reported that the impression disappeared. We’ll update this section when we’ve collected more top-quality reviews. Saatva Reddit
Saatva Latex Hybrid
Who it’s to be used forThe Saatva Latex Hybrid is ideal to those who prize durability over extravagantness. It’s great for back and stomach sleepers, and for those who toss and turn a lot. It’s designed to last for the majority of people, even those who weigh over 200 pounds.
How it feels:This 13-inch latex and coil hybrid is on the firm side of medium-firm. It’s very buoyant, somewhat bouncy and with some cushioning and cradling. It’s definitely not plush, though, and you’ll sleep better in the mattress than inside it.
We like:The Saatva Latex Hybrid is constructed with high-quality materials and techniques for construction. The quilted surface, made of cotton and wool (a natural fire retardant), is hand-tufted to the layers below it. Tufting (commonly seen on upholstery or traditional-style mattress innersprings) is a type of heavy-duty stitching which holds the layers together, which some argue can last longer than glue and also avoids the chemical smell of adhesives. The peaks and valleys made by the tufting may also reduce any visible body impressions, more so than the sock-covered, smooth-topped mattresses that you usually see on hybrids that are sold online.
Although most hybrids use the polyurethane layer over coils, the Saatva Latex Hybrid uses 3 inches of Talalay latex foam (which is ample, compared with the pricier Casper Wave, which uses half as much). Latex is more breathable and durable than polyurethane or memory foams. Talalay latex, used in the Zenhaven, is a more breathable, supple and comfortable foam in comparison to the Dunlop type that is commonly found in lower-priced latex mattresses.
Wirecutter’s supervisory Editor Wendy Schley tested the Saatva Latex Hybrid for a few months in her home. She found it extremely supportive and durable. “It is almost buoyant,” she said. “There’s some cushioning but it’s not luxurious in a soft way.” Wendy found that the mattress had a bouncy springy feeling that reminded her of an innerspring. She also never felt stuck in place-but the latex foam provided some motion-simplification. The edge support is superb due to the large (13 3/4 gauge) 8-inch coils along the edge.
Because of its breathable materials (the Talalay latex, cotton cover and wool layer on the top) as well as the coils that make up the Saatva Latex Hybrid should sleep cooler than all-foam mattresses and hybrids made of polyfoams. Wendy is a person who likes to be hot at night, found the Saatva Latex Hybrid to be considerably cooler than the other mattresses, even though we haven’t yet tested it in the summertime.
We haven’t found enough high-quality Saatva Latex Hybrid reviews to glean any trends, but we’ll update as we find.
We don’t love: Though the coils are wrapped in a single piece, there’s still a touch of motion transfer, due to well, coils. This isn’t as significant as movement transfer that’s present on Saatva Classic, but it’s more pronounced than on all-foam options such as those from the Loom & Leaf or Zenhaven.
A queen-size Latex Hybrid contains 789 coils (fewer than in our favorite hybrid mattresses, such as the Tempur-Adapt and the Leesa Hybrid, that have more than 1,000). When a mattress has fewer coils, it can mean that it won’t be able to conform as well to your body. But the firmness that the layer of latex makes up for that.
As Wendy discovered, the Saatva Latex Hybrid isn’t an ahhh type of mattress. It’s as if it’s lifting you, instead of snuggling you down. It may not offer enough cushioning to offer sufficient pressure relief for side sleepers or back sleepers who need extra cushioning on certain joints.
Wendy, who sleeps on her back and sides and has reported that she’s awakened with soreness in her lower back and shoulders when she slept on Saatva Latex Hybrid. If you’re looking for something a bit more plush, you may prefer Saatva Classic or the Loom & Leaf. Saatva Classic or the Loom & Leaf (both come in multiple firmness levels, including ones that feel softer than the Saatva Latex).
The tufting on the Latex Hybrid is topped with attractive yarn tassels. They are pretty, but they appear to be flimsy, and One of the yarn tassels that were on the mattress Wendy was testing unraveled after just several weeks. Saatva Reddit
Saatva Solaire Adjustable
Saatva’s Solaire is an adjustable air bed made of foam placed on the top of air chambers which can be programmed to the level you prefer using an electronic remote. We haven’t yet tried the Solaire yet however, we’ll update this article when we do. In the meantime, we’ll be discussing what we know about the Solaire.
Saatva launched the Solaire in 2019 to rival the Sleep Number’s premium i8 bed. Along with air chambers and a remote The Solaire comes with a pillow top, a Talalay latex layer, and an infused memory foam layer. It’s also cheaper by $650 that the Sleep Number I8.
It has 50 different settings as opposed to Sleep Number’s 20, but realistically we’re not sure whether anyone really needs that many. At a glance, the comfort components look like they’d provide a more-curve-conforming cradle than Sleep Number’s polyurethane foam layers.
However we won’t be able to tell what we’re getting until we lay upon the bed. The Solaire’s Talalay latex material suggests longevity, but because Sleep Number doesn’t divulge information about its foam materials, we can’t say that one bed will last longer than the others.
If you decide to go with a twin or a king size, or something else in between You can purchase this Solaire at any length, as the standard model. Or, if you choose either a queen or a King, you can upgrade to the Upper-Flex queen, the king, or the split king, all of which feature dual air chambers which means that sleepers can choose their own firmness levels.
The standard model is compatible with every bed frame (including bases that can be adjusted). But the Upper-Flex queen and King, as well as the split king option are designed to specifically work on adjustable bases that allow the two sides to adjust separately.
Saatva Company offers adjustable frames. Saatva Company offers its own adjustable frames, including Lineal Adjustable Base Standard and the Lineal Adjustable Base Standard and the Lineal Adjustable Base Upper-Flex. With the frame’s upper-flex, couples can utilize a remote to place their shoulders and heads separately (for example, one of them can sleep on a flat bed while the other person sits and reads a book).
The upper-flex frame designed specifically for the split king Solaire also allows both individuals to elevate their lower bodies separately. We didn’t have enough top-quality owner reviews to include here We’ll revise this guide when we’re able test the bed for ourselves and collect more reviews. Saatva Reddit
In May of 2019, Saatva introduced the Saatva HD which is a hybrid mattress designed for people who weigh between 300 and 500 pounds. We haven’t tested this product yet but we’re planning to test it in the near future.
Similar to Saatva Classic and the Loom & Leaf Saatva HD Saatva HD has a pillowy, quilted top layer, however the firm layer of foam underneath and coils are said to support more weight. We’re especially curious about the HD’s pillow top, as experts informed us that for those who are heavier, pillow tops could be especially susceptible to indentation.
The HD’s other components, however, seem promising as far as durability is concerned: There is a latex layer, which is typically stronger than memory foam, as well as a memory-foam layer, which has a density of 5 pounds per cubic foot (more than the 4-pounds-per-cubic-foot minimum that experts typically recommend for people who weigh over 200 pounds). Furthermore the HD’s 12 1/2 -gauge coils are thicker than those found in the other models from the company as well as those in its competitors like The Big Fig.
Still, these aren’t the only factors that determine the mattress’s longevity as well as its durability on its own doesn’t make for an appealing mattress. We plan on investigating these questions further in an upcoming guide to mattresses that are suitable for those who weigh more than 200 pounds.Saatva “strongly strongly suggests” that you put this mattress on a solid platform bed that has vertical center support.
If not, they advised us to purchase the HD together with its unique “high durabil” wood-slat foundation. Also, we found a few user reviews that were positive. When we’ve collected enough information to discern any trends and are able for a mattress test, we’ll give an update. Saatva Reddit
It’s called the Saatva Youth The company’s innovative coil-and-foam mattress for children costs more than mattresses designed for adults. However, it is dual-sided, with a coil layer sandwiched between two foam layers which means that the mattress will be able to grow with the kid.
One side of the mattress is intended for children aged 3 to 7, and it consists of zoned polyfoam with density ranging between 1.4 to 1.8 tons per square foot.
On the other side, meant for children older than (the company claims ages 8 through 12), the foam density ranges from 1.5 pounds per cubic foot, and is slightly more softer due to it being paired with the firmer side in the coil. The 13 3/4-gauge coils vary from 330 in a twin to 350 when a twin is XL, and 462 for the full.
The Saatva Youth is 10 inches thick and bunk-bed-friendly-as long as the bed’s guardrail is at least 5 inches higher than the mattress, for safety reasons. People who prefer natural materials will appreciate that the mattress is encased in a quilted, thick organic-cotton cover and uses thistle pulp (as instead of chemical sprays or fiberglass) to act as a flame-resistant. We haven’t yet tried this mattress as we haven’t found any online reviews. But we hope to assess it for a possible guide to mattresses for kids.
