In the sea of online mattresses, Saatva stands apart in fundamental ways. Saatva delivers its mattresses by truck, instead of in the form of a box. While, like other online sellers, it has rapidly developed its range, Saatva remains focused on the selection of “luxury” models that are all costing in the range of the Youth model, which is more than $1500 (for a queen). Saatva Vs Casper Reddit
There’s no doubt that there’s a galaxy of mattresses that are more lavish than Saatva’s, featuring more coils and better materials.
However, we consider Saatva’s mattresses to be one of the most stylish and thoughtfully designed options that are available from an online business.
Over the last two years, we’ve gathered to test the insidespring Saatva Classic, the memory-foam Loom & Leaf, and the all-latex Zenhaven, and they’ve consistently been among our top picks in our guides to the best foam mattresses and the top innerspring mattresses.
We’ve also experienced sleeping on Saatva’s Saatva latex hybrid as well as researched the construction and components of the rest of the beds from Saatva’s line-up.Most online mattresses are hybrids or foams, therefore this Saatva Classic stands out. It’s one of the few innerspring mattresses that you can buy online.
Pocketed coils provide the Saatva Classic a good amount of bounce near the top, and a extra soft top makes it more comfortable. Also, as with the other Saatva Company mattresses that are available, the Saatva Classic is delivered by moving trucks, not in a box. Saatva offers a generous 180-day trial period and simple returns.
All-foam Loom & Leaf is constructed with more dense memory foam than most mattresses that cost less than $1,000, which means it’s less likely to sag over time. This is why it’s ideal for those who weigh more than 200 pounds.
The quilted and thick cover is more cushier, and more robust than the sock-like covers of most foam mattresses and that cover makes the memory-foam layer underneath feel less as squishy.
As you’d expect with memory foam beds, the Loom and Leaf is able to limit motion better that the innerspring Saatva Classic.All-foam Zenhaven comprises primarily of latex. Particularly Talalay latex, which is made of the rubber tree’s milky sap and is intrinsically durable. Talalay is less stiff than Dunlop latex that is commonly found in cheaper latex mattresses that we’ve tried.
The Zenhaven can also be flipped (the Luxury Plush side feels moderately firm, while Gentle Firm feels a bit firmer). Gentle Firm side feels a little more firm) It could prove beneficial if you’re unsure what you prefer or if your preferences change over time.
This isn’t a traditional cushy mattress, but it offers a supple cushion, excellent edge support, and a subtle springiness.
Because of its durability it is recommended that the Zenhaven should work well for people who weigh greater than 200 pounds. Saatva Vs Casper Reddit
Saatva’s portfolio of beds-many with a choice of firmness levels and catering to almost every comfort preference-includes:
- Saatva Classic (innerspring)
- Loom & Leaf (all foam)
- Zenhaven (all latex)
- Saatva Latex Hybrid (latex with coils)
- Solaire (a mattress with air chambers that can be adjusted)
- Saatva HD (a hybrid made of latex and coil that is made for people who weigh between 300-500 pounds)
- Saatva Youth (a foam-coil hybrid designed for kids aged 3 to 12)
We haven’t yet done an exhaustive study of what we consider to be the “natural” claims made by Saatva or others “eco-friendly” brands.
However, we know that the company makes use of thistle or organic wool as a fire retardant (as as opposed to chemicals or fiberglass) as well as only natural cotton (instead of synthetic blends) in its mattress covers.
Similar to other online mattress manufacturers, Saatva touts such extras as zones for “optimal spinal support” but we’re not satisfied with these features, and are more impressed with Saatva’s responsive customer service and durable foams and coils. Saatva Vs Casper Reddit
Saatva Video Review
Who is it for:The Saatva Classic will likely be a good fit for those who like a soft (but not overwhelmingly big and bulky) top layer and an extremely durable, supple feel. The Luxury Firm variant (Saatva’s “Medium” offer) We tested it is a good choice for people who are back-, sidestomach and side-sleepers. The soft Plush Soft version is geared to side-sleepers and the Firm version, for stomach and back-sleepers.
What it feels like:We tested the Luxury Firm version of the Saatva Classic-the line’s most popular option-and found it to be soft on top, with good cushioning and bounce. It has a squarely medium-firm feel, but it becomes softer after a break-in period of a few months.
What we likeabout it:The Saatva Classic is among the very few innerspring mattresses that can be purchased online without the ease that is typically associated with buying the traditional boxed foam mattress. It is made up of 416 robust coils in the base for support and 884 individually wrapped, more flexible coils stacked on top, to ease pressure. There’s a slice of memory foam included in the mix, but the actual cushioning comes from an inch of polyfoam-and-fiber Euro top (an extra layer of cushion that is sewn beneath the top). The resultant feel is broad in appeal, being supple, supportive, and with a plushness that doesn’t feel bulky.
We tried the 14 1/2 -inch Saatva Classic in Luxury Firm in a 2021 group test for mattresses with innersprings (it’s also available in 11 1/2 inches) and it racked up the second-highest percentage of top-rated scores (nine among 39 testers) in the $1,000 to $2,000 category (which includes three other mattresses: the Avocado as well as the Parachute, and the first-place WinkBed). Five of the nine test subjects were awestruck by it more than the Saatva Classic better than any of the other mattresses in the test which included mattresses that cost twice as expensive; two of the nine test participants chose the Saatva Classic as their second-favorite overall.
For the home test, I looked forward to sleeping in this bed every night. I don’t like an overly heavy bed, and I was pleased that the Classic’s Euro top provided what seemed to me to be just the perfect amount of cuddling. The bed has some bounce but not so much that my husband’s tumbling over made me wake up. To me, the feeling of buoyancy was worth the tradeoff in motion isolation.
At around $1,600 when it’s not in sale (though it’s often) The Saatva Classic is the least expensive innerspring mattress we’ve tried that feels thick and has a touch of luxury. It also has the advantage the fact that you have the option of choosing from three firmness levels-Plush Soft, Luxury Firm or Firm-so you can likely get a perfect fit regardless of which sleeping position you choose to sleep in. Contrary to the more soft WinkBed which is another option in the innerspring mattress guide Saatva Classic is Saatva Classic is delivered unboxed by moving companies (so the “new mattresses smell” has already dissipated in the factory and while in transit) Also, this “white glove” delivery is absolutely free. Saatva offers a huge 180-day trial, and an extended warranty of 15 years.
We don’t love: If you don’t like a bouncy mattress, or you’re insensitive to your partner’s movements it’s likely that you won’t be a fan of the Saatva Classic. While all the coils on top are wrapped individually the bottom coils aren’t, so the bed has a bit more motion transfer than the other innerspring picks including the WinkBed. If you don’t like any bounce at all it’s better to go with Saatva’s Loom & Leaf.
The Saatva Classic also requires a bit of break-in time. When we first test the mattress in the year 2018, it felt medium-firm; after a year and half later, we discovered that it’s softened a little but in a nice manner (at least to me). This is not the case with a “Soft” mattress but those who prefer that might be interested in the Plush Soft version, which we haven’t tested yet.
The company boasts of an “active Lumbar Zone” technology to provide “additional back support” my husband (who weighs less than 200 pounds) wanted more support when he was in the Luxury Firm. He might have discovered this in the firm version but we haven’t tested the technology in the past, and so aren’t able to be sure. In general, we’re not particularly impressed by zones because people come in various sizes and shapes and they could spread out in a way that doesn’t match the zoning patterns.
The foam density in Saatva Classic are lower than those in Saatva Classic are less than those in the Loom & Leaf that is the company’s foam mattress offering. Although company representatives wouldn’t divulge the details, we were told the density of memory foam is at minimum three pounds for each cubic foot and that the density of the polyfoam of 1 1/2 pounds for each cubic foot.
These aren’t as high as those of the Loom & Leaf, but the specs are typical of an innerspring bed, particularly ones in this price range. Contrary to foam mattresses the steel coils of this mattress provide additional support, and the quilting could help prevent body impressions.
However, as the following Reddit post suggests, certain sleepers have had more success on Saatva mattresses. Saatva mattresses over the course of many years than others. We think this likely depends on the size and shape of the person sleeping on it. Like all Euro- or pillow-top mattresses the heavier you weigh, the more you risk experiencing sagging and impressions as time passes.
So you’ll want to turn your mattress regularly at least once every six months. You should also sleep on top of your bed.
Saatva Classic top owner-review feedback
We were able to find only 39 owner reviews that are of high-quality (those that weren’t fake or vague and were published recently, between the years 2019 and 2020). While the sample size is rather small, it’s interesting that more than 30% of the favorable reviews praised Saatva’s customer support. That’s a much bigger percentage than what we’ve seen with other online mattress companies.
We also observed that six reviewers had mentioned sagging as an issue; one of them weighed more than 200 pounds while the others weighed less than that or didn’t mention. All but one had owned the mattress for more than an entire year prior to the date of their review. This indicates that turning the mattress is vital for heavier individuals who prefer innersprings might want to look at the option of a mattress made from more durable latex foam, such as the Charles P. Rogers Estate SE. Saatva Vs Casper Reddit
Saatva Loom & Leaf
What it’s designed for: This all foam Loom & Leaf appeals to those who prefer a memory foam that wraps around instead of encasing them in a soft, slow hug. The softer Relaxed Firm version could be ideal for sleepers on the side. The Firm version is made for back- or stomach-sleepers. If you weigh over 200 pounds may be able to find the Firm version to be more supportive than the Relaxed Firm.
How it feels:The Relaxed Firm is an average-firm mattress that supports you without tying you in; The Firm (which we’ve only tried in a showroom) is much firmer.
What we like: The 12-inch thick Loom & Leaf comes with a durable, quilted, and sturdy cover, similar to the one you’d find on a high-quality innerspring mattress (by contrast, many memory foam mattresses are made of sock-like, thin covers). That cover contains its own foam padding, which adds additional nuance to the typically single-note squishiness that is common to memory-foam mattresses. I lay on the Relaxed Firm at home for over one week and liked that it was cuddly and solid at the same time. Our husband who likes mattresses that are firm and weighs just 70 pounds heavier than me-thought it was too soft.
Whereas most online mattresses have a memory-foam density in the 3-pounds-per-cubic-foot range, the Loom & Leaf’s top layer has a 4-pounds-per-cubic-foot density with a gel-infused layer meant to assist with cooling (though cooling features like gel and perforations tend to have minimal impact). The mattress also has a 5-pounds-per-cubic-foot memory-foam layer underneath that top layer. Given those specs we believe that this mattress is less likely to sag or create body indentions as compared to cheaper foam mattresses, even for those who weigh more than 200 pounds (though maybe not for those who weigh greater than 250 pounds; check reviews from owners below). Like any foam mattress, it also provides excellent motion isolation.
We tested our Loom & Leaf Relaxed Firm against the Serta iComfort (both are all-foam mattresses, which cost more than $1,000), and twenty-one out of 29 users preferred that of the Loom & Leaf. “It felt softer” was a common explanation; some even described it as being less “cushioned.” We examined it in comparison to it against the Casper Wave in 2019, the results were less unified (18 in favor of the Wave sixteen for that of the Loom & Leaf). The people who chose more of the Loom & Leaf preferred its “cushier” or “more conforming” feel or liked the feel of its quilting; those who chose to go with the Casper Wave described the Wave as having more support and that the Loom & Leaf as making them feel more “stuck.”
We also appreciate our appreciation that Loom & Leaf, like all of the Saatva Company’s mattresses, is delivered unboxed, by movers. This means that you don’t need to blow it out like many boxed mattresses; most off-gassing is likely to have already been done in the factory.
The thing we don’t like about HTML0: We wish Saatva could provide a level of firmness between Relaxed Firm and Firm-the two levels appear to be to be at least a couple of degrees apart. While the Loom & Leaf has better edge support than other popular online models (such like the Leesa and the Casper), it’s not as durable as a hybrid (like those like the Leesa Hybrid or Tempur-Adapt).
Despite the Loom & Leave’s cooling gel and pin core (punctured) design that is featured in the top layer, I slept a bit warm on the mattress, which was a surprise since I’m usually cold. However, given that it was mid-winter of the winter season, I don’t care too much. The tiny holes that are designed to cool the foam could compromise the durability that the foam has, however probably only slightly. Because it is the Loom & Leaf has a top-layer memory-foam density of 4 pounds per cubic foot, it will remain more durable than your standard $1000 or less online foam mattress.
Loom & Leaf top owner-review feedback
We only found 16 recent, high-quality reviewers of the Loom & Leaf. Like similar to the Saatva Classic, the quality of customer service has stood out in the glowing reviews. In 2019 , and in 2020 many reviewers described this Loom & Leaf as “too firm” as opposed to “too smooth.” But it’s difficult to draw conclusions about its texture. Many reviewers didn’t specify whether they had ordered one of the Relaxed Firm or the Firm.
Also, we noticed that reviewers who are heavier tend to describe that the Loom & Leaf as too soft, or even too saggy. For instance, we found comments on Reddit about the Relaxed Firm version sagging for people who weigh between 250 pounds. If this is the case, then look into to go with the Firm version (though it’s very firm) and the The Tempur-Adapt (which is also made of dense foam, but with a distinct memory foam hug). If you weigh more than 200 pounds, you should think about an alternative like the Zenhaven Zenhaven, which is constructed with intrinsically more-durable latex foam. Saatva Vs Casper Reddit
We recommend it? Yes.
Who is it for: This latex foam Zenhaven should suit people who sleep in any position, especially those who want a firm cushion without that “sunk-in” sensation. It’s also great for people of all weights, including those who weigh over 200 pounds.
The way it feels The foam mattress can be turned over, and it has handles to help you easily select between two choices that are: The Luxury Plush side is at the soft side of the medium-firm spectrum and is suitable for sleepers who are side-sleepers. This side’s Gentle Firm side offers a slightly firmer feel (the company says it’s about 20% firmer, and that seems right to us).
What we like: Zenhaven Zenhaven consists of two latex layers (one and the other is zoned to provide lower-back support and pressure points although this might not be beneficial according to your body size and position on your bed). Latex is a kind of foam made by the milky sap of the rubber tree, and it is intrinsically better than polyurethane foam or memory foam, so we think that this mattress is more durable for those who weigh more than 200 pounds.
We love this mattress because the Zenhaven is specifically made from Talalay latex, which feels more supple than the Dunlop latex commonly found in stiffer, less expensive latex mattresses, such as the Sleep on Latex Pure Green. The luxurious Plush as well as the Gentle Firm sides of the Zenhaven feel springy without being flexible. The bed as a whole is also more comfortable than mattresses made of Dunlop latex.
I lay in the Zenhaven for several months. Personally, I prefer a soft feel (like it’s counterpart, the Saatva Classic), but the Luxury Plush part of the Zenhaven was becoming more appealing to me. After putting it to the test for a couple of weeks, I began to appreciate its supple, slightly springy surface and cushioned cradle.
My son of 10 is also fond of playing on it, and the Zenhaven’s motion aversion does not stop me from feeling that. But it’s good enough that I don’t feel the need to notice my husband’s movements at night. Its edge support can be slightly better than that of most foam mattresses, including on the Loom & Leaf.
The husband of my friend, who is just under 200 pounds and usually is a back sleeper, has found Zenhaven to be more comfortable and appealing. Zenhaven as more substantive and more appealing than the memory foam Loom & Leaf The Relaxed firm as well as the Saatva Classic Luxury Firm.
The Zenhaven is delivered by movers and not in a container, so you’re less likely release that fresh-mattress smell to your home. It’s possible to switch between the more soft luxury Plush side as well as Gentle Firm side Gentle Firm side as your preferences and preferences shift, or if just aren’t certain which firmness level you’d like. Due to the weight of the mattress (the queen is 125 kilograms), Saatva will send Movers to assist you with one-time “courtesy” switch.
We don’t like:Although the Zenhaven has more supple and soft feel than other online all-latex mattresses, it’s still less luxurious-feeling than similarly priced innersprings or traditional foam mattresses because it’s not typically “fluffy.” The mere two (of 29) employees who liked it better than any other model in our 2020 study of foam and hybrid mattresses stated that they enjoyed that it was supportive, and believed that it could last for a long period of time. (In the latex category, most staffers in our blind test preferred the PranaSleep Lotus Asana 6 in Plush, which has a latex-polyurethane-foam construction and costs over $1,000 more than the Zenhaven.)
Since the Zenhaven is particularly heavy and two-sided, it needs to rest on a solid, quality platform bed or a frame and boxspring in good shape. Saatva sells the frame with a boxspring (which comes in two sizes) as well as a frame made of steel.
Zenhaven top owner-review feedback
We were able to find only 18 quality reviews of owners for the Zenhaven-too small a sample to draw any conclusive, objective, and non-subjective information, beyond good customer service. We did however find one particularly insightful review written by a more long-term owner with no weight (though the owner did state that the height was 6 feet 4 inches in height).
He said that after a year an half, he appreciated its cushion and resilience however, as he hadn’t been rotating the mattressregularly, he noticed a hip impression after which, when he started turning the mattress each six months, he claimed the impression was gone. We’ll update this page once we’ve collected more high-quality reviews. Saatva Vs Casper Reddit
Saatva Latex Hybrid
Who it’s to be used forThe Saatva Latex Hybrid is best suited to those who prefer the durability of their mattress over lavishness. It’s perfect for stomach- and back-sleepers as well as those who toss and turn frequently. It’s designed to last for most people, not just those who weigh over 200 pounds.
The way it feelsThis 13-inch hybrid of latex and coil is in the middle of medium-firm. It’s distinctly buoyant and a touch bouncy, with some cushioning and cradling. It’s certainly not luxurious, though, and you sleep more in the mattress than inside it.
What we love:The Saatva Latex Hybrid is constructed using top-quality materials and techniques for construction. The quilted top, constructed out of cotton, and a layer of wool (a natural fire retardant), is hand-tufted to the layers below it. Tufting (commonly found on furniture or traditional-style innerspring mattresses) is a kind of strong stitching that binds the layers, which some argue can last longer than glue and avoids the potential chemical smell that adhesives can emit. Its peaks as well as valleys produced by tufting could reduce any visible body impressions, and more so than the sock-covered and smooth-topped mattresses you typically see in online hybrids.
While most hybrids put an layer of polyurethane foam over coils, the Saatva Latex Hybrid uses 3 inches of Talalay latex foam (which is ample, compared with the pricey Casper Wave, which uses less). Latex is inherently more durable and breathable than polyurethane or memory foams. Talalay latex, which is also used in the Zenhaven mattress, is a more breathable and soft-feeling foam as opposed to the Dunlop type that is commonly found in lower-priced mattresses made of latex.
Wirecutter’s supervising editor Wendy Schley tested the Saatva Latex Hybrid for several months in her home. She found it strong and supportive. “It is almost buoyant,” she said. “There’s some cushioning but it’s not luxurious in the way that a luxurious mattress would be.” Wendy found that the mattress has a buoyant springy feeling that reminded her of an innerspring. She never felt stuck in place-but the latex foam did provide some motion isolation. Edge support was great due to the large (13 3/4 -gauge) 8-inch coils around the edges.
Because of its breathable materials (the Talalay latex, cotton cover, and wool layer in the top) and coils that make up this Saatva Latex Hybrid should sleep cooler than all-foam mattresses or hybrids made of polyfoams. Wendy who is known to have hot sleep, discovered it to be cooler than the Saatva Latex Hybrid to be considerably cooler than the other mattresses, although we haven’t tried it during the summer months.
We haven’t seen enough quality Saatva Latex Hybrid reviews to glean any trends, but we’ll update when we do.
What we don’t like: Though the coils are wrapped in a single piece, there’s still a touch of motion transfer due to, they’re coils. This isn’t as significant as motion transfer on the Saatva Classic, however, it’s more noticeable when compared to all-foam models such as the Loom & Leaf or Zenhaven.
A queen-sized Latex Hybrid contains 789 coils (fewer than our top hybrid mattresses, such as the The Tempur-Adapt as well as the Leesa Hybrid, that have more than 1,000). When a mattress is less dense than coils, it can mean that the mattress won’t conform as well with your physique. But the resilient feel of the latex layer more than makes up for that.
As Wendy experienced, as Wendy experienced, the Saatva Latex Hybrid isn’t an Ahhh kind of mattress. It’s like it’s lifting you, rather than nestling you in. It may not offer enough cushioning to offer enough pressure relief to side sleepers, or even to back-sleepers who need extra cushioning on specific joints.
Wendy who sleeps on her back and side and reported that she occasionally awakened with soreness in her shoulders and lower back after sleeping on the Saatva Latex Hybrid. If you’re looking for something a bit more luxurious, you might prefer Saatva Classic or the Loom & Leaf. Saatva Classic or the Loom & Leaf (both are available in a variety of degrees of firmness, including those that are softer than Saatva Latex).
The tufting of the Latex Hybrid’s is highlighted by attractive yarn tassels. They look lovely, but are reportedly flimsy attached, and one of the tassels that were on the mattress Wendy was testing unraveled after just several weeks. Saatva Vs Casper Reddit
Saatva Solaire Adjustable
The Saatva Solaire is an adjustable-air bed, consisting of foam on top of air chambers which can be programmed to your preferred firmness level by using the remote. We haven’t tried the Solaire yet, but we’ll update this guide once we’ve had the chance to. In the meantime, we’ll discuss what we know about the Solaire.
Saatva launched the Solaire in 2019 to compete with the Sleep Number’s top-of-the-line i8 mattress. Along with air chambers and remotes The Solaire comes with the option of a pillow top, Talalay Latex Layer, as well as an infused memory foam layer. It’s also cheaper by $650 over the Sleep Number’s i8.
It has 50 different settings as opposed to Sleep Number’s 20. However, realistically we’re not sure whether anyone really needs more than that. At a glance, the comfort components look like they’d provide a more-curve-conforming cradle than Sleep Number’s polyurethane foam layers.
But, of course we won’t be able to tell what we’re getting until we lay down upon the bed. The Solaire’s Talalay latex materials suggest longevity, but because Sleep Number doesn’t provide any information about its foam materials, we can’t say that one bed is more durable than the other.
Whether you choose one of the twins, a king, or something in between You can purchase this Solaire at any length you want as a standard model. Or, if you choose the queen or King and want to upgrade, you can choose the Upper-Flex queen or king, or split King, which all come with two air chambers, which means that sleepers can choose their own level of firmness.
The standard model can be used on any bed frame (including bases that can be adjusted). But the Upper-Flex queen and King, as well as the split king options are designed to work specifically on adjustable bases that permit the two sides to adjust separately.
The Saatva Company offers its own adjustable frames, including the Lineal Adjustable Base Standard and the Lineal Adjustable Base Upper-Flex. The frame’s Upper-Flex feature allows couples can utilize the remote to adjust their shoulders and head separately (for example, one of them can sleep on a flat bed while the other one sits and reads or reads a book).
The upper-flex frame designed specifically for the split king Solaire also allows both individuals to elevate their lower bodies separately. We couldn’t find enough high-quality owner reviews to list here We’ll revise this guide when we’re in a position to test the bed for ourselves and gather more reviews. Saatva Vs Casper Reddit
In May 2019, Saatva introduced the Saatva HD Hybrid Mattress specifically designed for those who weigh between 300-500 pounds. We haven’t yet tested the mattress yet, but we’re hoping to do so in the future.
Similar to Saatva Classic and the Loom & Leaf, the Saatva HD has a pillowy, quilted top layer, however the firm underlying foam and coil layers are said to support heavier weights. We’re particularly interested in the pillow top of the HD, because experts told us that for heavier people pillows can be more susceptible to indentations.
The HD’s other components, however, seem promising as far as durability is concerned: There is a latex layer, which is typically stronger than memory foam, as well as a memory-foam layer, which has a density of 5 pounds per cubic foot (more than the 4-pounds-per-cubic-foot minimum that experts typically recommend for people who weigh over 200 pounds). Additionally, the HD’s 12 1/2 -gauge coils are more dense than the coils in the other models from the company as well as those of its rivals like The Big Fig.
But these aren’t necessarily the only factors that determine the mattress’s longevity as well as its durability on its own does not make for a desirable mattress. We plan on investigating these issues further in an upcoming guide to mattresses that are suitable for those who weigh more than 200 pounds.Saatva “strongly recommends” that you place this mattress on a solid platform bed with a vertical center support.
Otherwise, representatives told us that you must buy the HD together with its unique “high endurance” wood-slat foundation. We also spotted a few user reviews that were positive. Once we’ve gathered enough to identify any patterns and have the ability try the mattress out, we’ll send an update. Saatva Vs Casper Reddit
It’s called the Saatva Youth The company’s innovative coil-and-foam mattress for children is more expensive than mattresses for adults. But it’s dual-sided, with the coil layer sandwiched between two foam layers and a mattress that can grow along with a kid.
One side of the mattress is intended for children aged 3 to 7 years old, and it is made up of zoned polyfoam , which has density ranging from 1.4 up to 1.8 kg per cubic foot.
On the other side, designed for kids older than that (the company states that it’s for ages 8 through 12) the foam density is 1.5 tons per cubic feet and somewhat softer because it’s paired with the more firm side in the coil. The 13 3/4 gauge coils vary from 330 in a twin up to 350 in a twin XL. They also go up to 462 in the full.
The Saatva Youth is 10 inches thick and bunk-bed-friendly-as long as the bed’s guardrail is at least 5 inches higher than the mattress, for safety reasons. For those who prefer natural materials, will appreciate that the mattress is wrapped in a quilted, thick organic-cotton cover and uses thistle pulp (as instead of chemical sprays or fiberglass) as the flame retardant. We haven’t yet tried this mattress, nor have we spotted any online reviews. We’re hoping to evaluate it for a possible guide to mattresses for kids.
